After our first trip to the Victorian high country, we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to stay there longer. We promised that we would get back and see a lot more of the mountains. Although not as high nor as steep, the Snowys (encompassed mostly in Kosciuszko National Park) offered a closer drive from home and ample routes to map out. They also have some fantastic campsites and lots of historical sights and the amazing Hydro Electric scheme. Common sense dictates camping in summer, however if the roads are open and you are prepared it would be brilliant to camp in winter in snow.
